KARACHI: Amid growing number of influenza cases, the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has declared use of surgical masks mandatory for all staff working in three major departments.
According to an advisory to staff issued by the Department of Infection Prevention & Epidemiology (DIPHE), use of surgical mask is mandatory for staff working in all unit receptions in the outpatient department areas, in patient assessment areas and in the emergency and urgent care services.
Surgical masks are mandatory for staff and patients at all the times if have fever coupled with anyone of symptoms like cough, sneezing or runny nose, it further mentioned.
