Karachi: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) successfully held its annual two-day Graduate Programs Review. The review was aimed to evaluate the quality and performance of its postgraduate programs in line with the criteria set by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The review process focused on three key areas. First, a document review was conducted to assess records and reports related to postgraduate programs. Second, stakeholder feedback was gathered from research scholars, faculty, deans, and program heads across various MS, M.Phil., equivalent, and PhD programs. Third, an infrastructure audit examined the university’s facilities and support systems.
The external review panel featured distinguished academic professionals, including Mr. Syed Waqar-ul-Hassan from Salim Habib University, Dr. Arshia Naqvi from Sohail University, Prof. Dr. Farhan Saeed Vakani from Dow University of Health Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Nadeem Khoker from Hamdard University.
During the opening session, Director QEC Dr. Abdul Wahid Usmani highlighted the significance and scope of the review.
Dr. Suraiya presented an orientation that detailed the university’s governance structure and performance measures.
The external reviewers commended the staff for their cooperation and support throughout the evaluation process, and souvenirs were presented to the review team in recognition of their contributions.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Azam Khan, Registrar of JSMU.
