KARACHI: Over 30 administrative staff from Jinnah Sindh Medical University successfully completed a one-week Capacity Building Programme for University Management, organized by JSMU in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC Islamabad. The closing ceremony was held at the Professional Development Centre (PDC) under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Amjad Siraj Memon.
This initiative, guided by Dr. Noor Amna Malik from NAHE and coordinated by Director Research Prof. Huma Shareef and Mr. Tahir Mehmood from HEC, focused on enhancing institutional management practices through specialized modules delivered by renowned experts in the field.
During the five-day training, sessions were conducted on professional communication by Dr. Shahida Sajjad, leadership and time management by Dr. Humaira Mumtaz, project cycle and monitoring by Mr. Mubashir Banoori, financial management and DDO responsibilities, and federal procurement processes by Mr. Safdar Shah. These sessions equipped participants with relevant tools and techniques to improve administrative functioning and decision-making within the university setup.
On the final day, Vice Chancellor Prof. Amjad Siraj Memon appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and acknowledged the collaborative role of NAHE and HEC in capacity building across the higher education sector. Director QEC Dr. Abdul Wahid Usmani and his team played a crucial role in facilitating the program and ensuring its smooth execution.
Dr. Azam Khan appreciated the efforts of NAHE, HEC, and the coordination by Prof. Huma Shareef for successfully organizing the training. Dr. Rahat Naz, Director HR, and Principal IPS Prof. Huma Ali, also participated in the ceremony and congratulated the team on the successful execution of the event. The presence and support of Director Administration Mr. Sohrab Zaman, and Director Audit Mr. Samad Ibrahim and QEC representative Mr. Amir Anees,further reflected the university’s collective commitment to professional development and institutional growth.
The program concluded with a reaffirmation of JSMU’s commitment to institutional development and continuous professional growth.
This initiative also aligns with Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), by fostering effective governance and capacity in university management.
