HYDERABAD: In response to directives from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, the Directorate General of Health Services Sindh Hyderabad has issued instructions to all District Health Officers across the province to initiate a comprehensive awareness campaign on malaria prevention.
According to an official notification, the PAC, in its meeting held on January 29, directed the Health Department to launch a campaign specifically focused on the promotion and proper use of malaria control spray.
All district health officers have been instructed to implement the directives promptly and submit detailed reports supported by photographic evidence to the relevant authorities. The campaign aims to strengthen public awareness and improve community engagement on malaria prevention.
As part of the initiative, districts have also been advised to observe World Malaria Day on April 25, 2025, through community activities including walk rallies, seminars, school sessions, and distribution of IEC (Information, Education & Communication) materials such as posters, pamphlets, and brochures in Urdu and Sindhi.
Health officials across Sindh are expected to mobilize their resources and ensure widespread dissemination of anti-malaria messages in their respective areas.
