KARACHI: Sindh has reported its first confirmed case of monkeypox, according to health authorities.
The patient, a 29-year-old male from District Malir, was diagnosed following laboratory confirmation.
Health officials stated that the individual has no recent travel history, raising concerns about local transmission. The onset of symptoms was reported on March 15, 2025. The patient is currently in isolation at a public hospital, receiving medical care.
The Sindh Health Department has initiated contact tracing to identify and monitor individuals who may have been exposed to the virus.
