Sir Syed University offers to facilitate Ida Rieu students for study

KARACHI: The Ida Rieu School for the Blind and deaf organized sports day that was attended by dignitaries, Farman Shaikh, Chairman Blind Cricket Association, Mr. Salman, parents including dedicated members of the Ida Rieu Welfare Association, who came together to honor the exceptional achievements of the students.

Vice Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Dr. Munawar Hussain, said that the partnership between the two institutions is set to pave the way for new avenues of learning and growth, fostering innovation and empowerment for the students.

Registrar of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Cdre. (r) Syed Sarfraz Ali graced the occasion on special invitation and announced to facilitate and provide opportunities for Ida Rieu students to study in the fields of science and technology at Sir Syed University.

Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Registrar SSUET, Syed Sarfraz Ali said that sports day is a celebration of competition, teamwork, and the spirit of sportsmanship, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents. 

This event highlights the importance of physical fitness and encourages healthy competition among students. Parents and teachers play a crucial role in fostering a sense of belonging and motivation among students, encouraging them to strive for excellence. 

The event also strengthens the bond between the school and families, as everyone comes together to celebrate the achievements of young athletes.

The President of the Ida Rieu Welfare Association, Ms. Nadira Panjwani highlighted the significance of the day, emphasizing that it not only showcased the athletic talents of the students but also celebrated their indomitable spirit of courage, sportsmanship, and resilience. 

Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Taha Farooqui, delivered a heartfelt speech on the importance of such events in the holistic well-being and development of students. 

The event concluded with the distribution of medals and trophies among the participants and winners of the sports events.
