Karachi: Young Doctors Association (YDA) JPMC held a productive meeting with Dr. Shahid Rasul, Executive Director to discuss key issues affecting the hospital and its staff.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ammar Danish, President, Dr. Muhammad Ali, Spokesperson and Dr. Shehryar Shaikh, senior member YDA JPMC.
YDA JPMC congratulated Dr. Shahid Rasul on his return as executive director and assured full support for his efforts to improve hospital services. The association expressed its commitment to working with Dr. Shahid Rasul to address the challenges faced by doctors and patients.
Key points discussed during the meeting include:
1: Enhanced Security: Improving hospital security by hiring 25 well-trained, retired army personnel as guards through the Safe Hospital Project.
2: Emergency Laboratory Services:
Establishing a JSMU laboratory unit in the emergency department to provide free, emergency testing services to ER patients. Tests Cost will be beared by JPMC.
3: Timely Stipends:
Ensuring monthly stipends for house officers and postgraduate trainees to alleviate financial stress.
4: Improved Food Facilities:
Abolishing contracts for the current food court and creating separate facilities for doctors and patients, with a focus on quality, cleanliness, and hygiene.
5: Free Parking and Washroom Services:
Abolishing charged parking and washroom services for attendants.
Dr. Shahid Rasul thanked YDA JPMC for their support and assured that all issues will be addressed as soon as possible. A follow-up meeting will be held to review progress on these matters.
