KARACHI: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has announced the successful approval of pending stipends for February and advance stipends for March ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The development came after a meeting between the YDA delegation and Executive Director Dr. Shahid Rasul on Tuesday.
According to a press release issued by YDA JPMC, a delegation led by President Dr. Ammar Danish, along with General Secretary Dr. Azeem Khoso, Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Ali, and Vice Chairman Sindh Dr. Mehran Shar, formally requested the stipend disbursement. Following their appeal, Dr. Shahid Rasul directed the Accounts Department to promptly release stipends for Postgraduate Students (PGS) and House Officers (HOs).
The YDA also acknowledged the administration’s efforts in improving facilities at JPMC. They expressed gratitude to Dr. Shahid Rasul for:
Abolishing charged parking and toilet fees for doctors and staff.
Initiating two key projects: a patients’ cafeteria in the emergency department and a main cafeteria for doctors.
Addressing illegal occupancy issues in the 96 Mess and Doctors’ Colony.
The YDA JPMC appreciated the administration’s cooperation and expressed hope for continued improvements in doctors’ welfare and patient care at the hospital.
