Hyderabad: Chairman of Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh, Dr. Mehboob Noonari, held a significant meeting last night with YDA Sindh President Dr. Roshan Chandio and other office bearers in Hyderabad.
The discussion focused on pressing issues facing the province, with particular emphasis on illegal canals and corporate farming on the Indus River.
During the meeting, Dr. Noonari congratulated Dr. Roshan Chandio and the teams of YDA Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) and YDA Hyderabad on successfully organizing a doctors’ convention addressing these critical matters.
He directed YDA units across Sindh to initiate similar protests and conventions on canal encroachments and corporate farming.
The participants strongly criticized the Sindh Health Department for its failure to resolve long-standing issues faced by doctors.
They condemned the department’s lack of seriousness in implementing policies and highlighted grievances such as unjust transfer and posting practices, non-implementation of the wedlock policy, delays in deputations and salary increases, neglect of dental and special cadres, stalled security legislation, and the denial of rightful promotions and postings—especially for women medical officers.
YDA Sindh warned the health department against continued retaliatory actions targeting doctors. The association made it clear that it will not allow the economic strangulation and mental harassment of medical professionals to continue unchecked.
